The exam

To keep working in Japan, you need to pass

To keep working in Japan, foreign caregivers must pass the national Certified Care Worker exam. Yet only around 30% of foreign candidates pass — and without it, most must eventually go home.

MEDRiNG is changing that

Pattern ①

Make it easier to pass while still in Japan

  1. Study with MEDRiNG Study while working in Japan
  2. Sit the exam
  3. Pass
  4. Settle into Japanese care as a Certified Care Worker

Once certified, there is no limit on renewing the “Care” residence status. If your employer uses MEDRiNG Study, you can start while you are still in Japan.

Pattern ②

Even after failing — back to Japan as a Certified Care Worker

  1. Fail, and return home
  2. Work at a Japanese-style facility in Asia and keep studying with MEDRiNG Study
  3. Retake the exam
  4. Pass
  5. Return to Japan as a Certified Care Worker

Going home no longer ends your career. Japanese-style facilities in Asia give you both a place to work and a place to keep learning.

Techniques that bring you closer to passing — in one app

MEDRiNG’s CEO, Kazuma Abe, graduated from the University of Tokyo’s Faculty of Law and passed Japan’s national civil service exam. But he is no genius, and his grades were not always good. He passed because he found the techniques that bring you closer to passing. MEDRiNG Study carries that method over to the Certified Care Worker exam.

Five techniques that bring you closer to passing
01

Always link the question to the answer with logic

A lucky guess falls apart on the day. Every question has an explanation — not just why the answer is right, but why each of the other options is wrong.

02

Master the topics that come up most

The syllabus is wide, but the topics that keep coming back are few. Based on past-exam analysis, the frequent topics of each subject are packed into short six-question lessons — easy to fit between shifts.

03

Repeat, again and again

Missed questions line up automatically as “today’s review” — as many times as it takes. Days to the exam, today’s goal and your study streak are all on screen to keep you going.

Repeat, again and again
04

Learn key terms with flashcards

05

And take mock exams — over and over

Mock exams in the same part-by-part format as the real thing, as often as you like. Accuracy by part and every attempt are recorded, so the distance to passing is always visible.

Learn wherever you are

During breaks at work, at home, or at a facility back home — you can keep learning, wherever you are.

Your employer can support you

Companies that use MEDRiNG Study can see your learning progress — only if you agree. Your answers to individual questions are never shown.

After going home

Keep working, keep learning — and go back to Japan

Even if you return home, your career continues. At Japanese-style care facilities in Asia that use MEDRiNG Care, you can work with the skills you learned in Japan, keep studying with MEDRiNG Study, and aim to return to Japan as a Certified Care Worker.
